In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
The Lord be with you
And also with you
Anthem: For the beauty of the Earth by John Rutter
Written by Kay Plumley
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
The peace of God,
which passes all understanding,
keep your hearts and minds
in the knowledge and love of God,
and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord;
and the blessing of God almighty,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be among you and remain with you always.
Go in the peace of Christ
Thanks be to God

HARVEST THANKSGIVING – NEXT SUNDAY 4th OCTOBER St Hilda’s have been supporting Peoples Kitchen and WaterAid for many years. In these difficult times our support is needed more than ever as more people are struggling and in need of help. The food most needed…. Tinned Curry, Tinned Chilli, Tinned Meatballs, Tinned Burgers, Tinned Potatoes, Tinned Peas. Long life milk, Jars of Italian, Indian, Chinese – cooking sauces. Bottles/Cans of drinks.
News from Peoples Kitchen…. Earlier this year, a group of Friends proposed that they develop a cookbook with recipe ideas that are accessible to those on a low income with limited resources for cooking. This inspired idea was set into motion and has been created as a Christmas gift given out to Friends at thier annual December street party.
Cheques in support of WaterAid can be made payable to ’The PCC of St Hilda’ and one cheque for all will be sent to WaterAid, Cash can also be included but please make it clear who you intend it for.. – Thank You!.
FOOD BANKS – We will also continue to send Food to Food Banks from St Hilda’s… via the Supermarket. Any donations can be left in the boxes in church and they will then be taken away to the appropriate supermarket. Food Banks have suggested this method, for now, to limit the number of people coming and going. They also most need the same tins etc. as Peoples Kitchen, listed above.
Stephanie’s Pilgrimage to Santiago de Com… ‘Way of St James’.
Her journey continues…
The weather is changeable and Stephanie seems to take it all in her stride. Nothing gets in the way of this amazing Pilgrimage.
A quote from Stephanie’s Facebook page… Molinaseca to Villafranca del Bierzo, best part of 33km. Another long and slow day in amongst the peaks (though no longer as high up as yesterday). Had the rain to contend with in the morning but mostly muggy this afternoon, and now the sun is shining.
This information is behind Stephanie’s up-to-date Facebook page, with lots of beautiful pictures – https://www.facebook.com/revdskeates/ – A direct link, which will take you straight there, click anywhere on the blue writing.
Please hold Stephanie in your prayers as she makes this Pilgrimage.
Kathrine Norris – Change of telephone number. Kath has been having problems with telephone callers and been forced to change her telephone number. Please ask Lesley for her new telephone number, she understandably has requested not to print it here.
