FLOWER FESTIVAL & EXHIBITION 2024

THEME – FAMOUS QUOTES

Friday Evening Preview, a glass of wine, cheese & biscuits and entertainment by The Mandolin Orchestra

In memory of all those who gave their lives

In life we cannot do great things. We can only do small thing with great love

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.

Shall I compare thee to a summers day?

Love one another as I have loved you!

At the end of the day, we endure much more than we thin we can.

It’s worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting changes

Opportunity is missed by everyone, because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work

You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one, I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.

They tried to bury us – They didn’t know we were seeds

Every storm in your life is followed by a Rainbow

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice – but when the wicket rule, the people groan – Proverbs 29 v 2

Flower Festival and Exhibition 28th & 29th June 2024

The theme for 2024 is FAMOUS QUOTES

We are hopeful of all quotes being encouraging and uplifting to all who visit and with that feel good factor.

The quote is enhanced by the use of beautiful flowers and arranged in a way that tells a story, making the experience quite magical. Following the preview of the flowers on opening night, Friday the 28th June, the magic continues as we are entertained by the wonderful music of the Mandolin Orchestra.

Everyone will also have another opportunity to see the Exhibition on Saturday the 29th June from 10:00am until 5:00pm in church and in the hall there will be refreshments and stalls as in previous years.

Admission free on Saturday, donations are very welcome.

Friday evening tickets are £6.00, which includes cheese and wine and entertainment by the Mandolin Orchestra

We would also like to offer the opportunity to sponsor a flower arrangement in memory of

a loved one, as a dedication to someone or for whatever reason you choose.

INVITATION TO TAKE PART
This year’s Flower Festival & Exhibition was a little different… The Community were warmly invited to take part by designing their own arrangement, and somehow linking it to represent themselves, in the community.  The theme was ‘Community and Flowers’ – a title we hope can encompass the environment, our place in it, and what our community stands for. We love to bring the community together, as in The Tree Festival, and to have them on board is wonderful

THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD

It began with a preview, on Friday evening, with cheese and wine and was followed by a  show.

A wonderful time was had by all.

The story, told in Flowers

The Birth of Jesus

The Baptism of Jesus

Top right- Jesus calls the first disciples, represented by their fishing boat.

Bottom right – Jesus heals a paralytic man.  The man was lowered to where Jesus was inside the house, through a hole in the roof.  It was impossible to enter ant other way, because of the crowds.  The stretcher can be seen on the roof top, at the top beside the stairs.

The Last Supper

Pilate washes his hands ” I am innocent of this man’s blood, see to it yourselves.”

They crucified Jesus between two criminals

THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD

Baptism of Jesus… ” I saw the Spirit come down as a dove and remain on Him.”

Healing the Paralytic man at Capernaum, he was lowered down through the roof, because the crowds made it impossible to enter any other way.

The Feeding of the 5000

Above – The Last Supper

Below – Pilate washes his hands in front of the crowd, saying “I am innocent of this man’s blood.”

Two robbers were crucified with Him one on His right and one on His left.

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty.  An angel of the Lord told them, ” Jesus has risen, just as He said.”
